A raven turn is a signature element of 4th Dimension roller coasters (like X2 or Eejanaika). It is a half-loop that can be performed either "inside" or "outside". Because 4D coasters have seats that rotate independently of the track, the raven turn is often combined with a seat flip, creating a disorienting sensation where the world appears to somersault around the rider.
