Celestial Spin Explained – Theme Park Definition
Also known as: Celestial Roll
A celestial spin is a dual-track inversion patented by Mack Rides and made famous as the signature element of Stardust Racers, the duelling launch coaster at Universal Epic Universe. As the two racing trains crest a shared hill, their tracks invert around one another: one train rolls upward through a zero-G roll while, at the very same moment, the other rolls downward through a barrel roll — so the cars appear to spiral around each other in mid-air.
Because both rolls are timed to the airtime hill, riders float through a long moment of weightlessness while the sister train twists past just metres away. Watch it head-on in the front view to see the two tracks wind around each other, switch to follow mode to track the duel, or ride onboard to feel your own horizon invert as the other train sweeps overhead. It is closely related to the zero-G roll, the inversion and the airtime hill.
