Coasters
Intamin AG is a Swiss ride manufacturer founded in 1967, responsible for some of the most ambitious coaster records in history. Their hydraulic launch system powered the world's tallest coasters for years — Kingda Ka at Six Flags Great Adventure (139 m / 456 ft) and Top Thrill Dragster at Cedar Point (128 m / 420 ft) both used Intamin hydraulic technology. Beyond record-chasers, Intamin also builds critically acclaimed mega coasters (Millennium Force at Cedar Point) and multi-launch coasters.
In Europe, Intamin has delivered some of the continent's most beloved coasters. Taron at Phantasialand is widely considered one of Europe's best coasters, combining two LSM launches with an intricate, twisting layout through a volcanic landscape. Black Mamba at Phantasialand is a celebrated B&M-style inverted coaster from Intamin's inverted portfolio. Red Force at Ferrari Land in Tarragona is Europe's fastest coaster at 180 km/h. Intamin designs tend to be operationally complex compared to B&M, which has sometimes led to reliability concerns, but the ride experiences they create are often at the very cutting edge of what is possible.
