Pepper's Ghost Explained – Theme Park Definition

Pepper's Ghost is a theatrical illusion technique used to create transparent "ghosts." It works by placing a large sheet of glass at an angle between the audience and a scene; by lighting an object in a hidden room so its reflection appears in the glass, it looks like a translucent figure is standing in the main scene. This 19th-century technique is most famously used on a massive scale in the ballroom scene of Disney's Haunted Mansion.
