Bobsled Coaster Explained – Theme Park Definition

A bobsled coaster sends its cars down a curved, tube-like trough rather than along a conventional track, so they are free to find their own line through the banked turns — much like a real bobsleigh run. The result is a swooping, laterally-driven ride with no inversions, where speed and the shape of the channel dictate the experience. Schwarzkopf built celebrated early versions, and Mack Rides is the best-known maker of the modern steel bobsled, several of which run at German and Alpine parks.
