Motorbike Coaster Explained – Theme Park Definition

On a motorbike coaster riders straddle the vehicle rather than sitting in it, gripping handlebars and leaning forward with their feet on pegs. The seating changes the whole experience: the centre of gravity sits low and directly over the rails, so banked turns and lateral forces read as leaning into a corner. It also means the trains are long and narrow, and capacity per vehicle is low.

Vekoma built the first with Booster Bike at Toverland in 2004; Intamin took the idea furthest on Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure, which adds a sidecar so non-straddling riders can join. Disney’s TRON Lightcycle / Run uses the same posture with an enclosed canopy over each rider.
