Quad-Down Explained – Theme Park Definition

A quad-down (and its smaller cousins the triple-down and double-down) is a stack of descending steps taken in quick succession, each giving a sharp pop of airtime as the train drops, levels briefly and drops again. The element is a favourite on wooden and hybrid coasters for delivering machine-gun airtime in a compact footprint, building on the same idea as the camelback and bunny hop but chaining the hops into one rapid sequence.
