Attractions
A river rapids ride (also called a white-water rafting ride or wild-water ride) puts guests in circular inflatable or fibreglass rafts that drift and spin along an artificially created channel designed to simulate the chaos of white-water rapids. Because the circular raft rotates freely on the current, each ride-through is unpredictable: depending on raft position at each water feature, some riders get completely drenched while others stay relatively dry. River rapids rides tend to have high hourly capacity and strong family appeal, with typically low height requirements. They are especially popular on hot days. Prominent European examples include the Wildwasser rides at Phantasialand and the various rapids attractions at Efteling, Europa-Park, and Thorpe Park.
