Treble Clef Explained – Theme Park Definition

A treble clef is a stacked, self-crossing curve — the train climbs into a loop, crosses over its own track and exits through the middle of the shape, tracing something close to the outline of the musical symbol. It is not an inversion: the train stays upright throughout, held by heavy banking rather than by going upside down. What riders feel is a long, disorienting sweep with the track passing very close overhead and underneath.

The element was built by Maurer Rides for Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit at Universal Studios Florida, whose layout is themed to music and names its figures accordingly — the treble clef follows the ride’s "double take" non-inverting loop. It remains a one-off, which is part of why the ride is so recognisable.
