Infinity Coaster Explained – Theme Park Definition

The Infinity Coaster is Gerstlauer’s current custom-coaster platform. It keeps what made the Euro-Fighter successful — beyond-vertical drops, vertical lifts and layouts that fit into very little land — while replacing the boxy four-seat cars with longer, lower trains that have open sides and vest restraints instead of over-the-shoulder harnesses. The result rides noticeably smoother and lets the designer use more airtime hills, which the older model handled badly.

The range covers everything from compact park-filler coasters to record-holders: The Smiler at Alton Towers holds the world record for inversions with fourteen, Hansa-Park’s Oath of Kärnan pairs a 73-metre vertical lift with a swing launch, and Star Trek: Operation Enterprise at Movie Park Germany runs the model as a multi-launch shuttle.
