Outerbanked Turn Explained – Theme Park Definition
An outerbanked turn is a maneuver where the track is banked in the opposite direction of what is traditionally expected. Instead of leaning "into" the curve to neutralize lateral forces, the track leans "out", creating a sensation of being thrown toward the outside of the vehicle. This element is a hallmark of modern manufacturers like RMC and Intamin, designed to provide a mix of lateral and negative G-forces (airtime).
